WELCOME TO

St. John Lutheran Church

BOILING SPRINGS, PA

NEW THIS FALL

We are starting a new group focusing on grief support. The group will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm beginning in October. Members as well as friends and neighbors are welcome - anyone who has experienced a loss will be supported in this group. Reading material will be provided; the group is led by Pastor Cover.

St. John Prayer Group will meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month beginning September 3rd. We will meet in the church library from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. For those members who have either prayer requests or blessings, please fill out the requests and place them in the Prayer Box in the narthex. For any questions, please contact Marie Boyer.

In conjunction with the prayer group, we will be starting a Prayer Shawl Ministry. Some yarn will be available in the church library. The pattern for knitting or crochet is available on https://shawlministry.com. Upon completion, prayer shawls will be blessed by the Pastor and then will be made available to those who need a shawl as a sign of God’s loving and healing presence. For any questions, contact Marie Boyer.

Help Us Prepare Lutheran World Relief Kits

CELEBRATING 80 Years of Lutheran World Relief

It’s almost time to assemble our Lutheran World Relief Kits, and your support makes a big difference! You can help by donating items from the approved supply lists. Please be sure to follow the specific guidelines for each kit.

Donations may be placed in the bins located at the back of the church.

As assembly time approaches, we’ll share any specific items we’re short on. In the meantime, any contributions you can make from the lists are greatly appreciated!

It’s Still Gleaning Time at Project Share

Gleaning is a Biblical practice where growers leave excess crops in the field for others to harvest and use. At Project Share, volunteers help glean produce like cucumbers, tomatoes, corn, and melons from local farmers’ fields. The fresh food is then distributed to individuals and families in need.

It’s meaningful work—and a great way to give back! Gleaning events take place on Monday evenings from about 5:15 to 8:00 PM.

You can learn more and sign up at www.projectsharepa.org.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me, Jane Gillwood. I’ve signed up to glean on July 28th and August 18th, and if you’re planning to go and would like to carpool, just let me know!

Who We Are

St. John is a growing rural/suburban Lutheran church serving the greater Boiling Springs area.

We believe the most important priority of our church is to continue Christ’s mission to make disciples: know Jesus and make Jesus known.

What We Believe

As a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we believe that we are freed by the grace of Christ to live faithfully, to serve and love our neighbor.

With our hands, we do God’s work of restoring and reconciling individuals and communities in Jesus Christ’s name throughout the world.

Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Virginia Cover has been serving as the interim pastor at St. John since January of 2024. The church is in the process of calling a new pastor. Read our Ministry Site Profile.
