Survey Results & Busy Bags
Report from the Learning Committee:
We sent out a survey to parents in the congregation who have young children in order to get feedback from them about their worship experience - what is working for their families and suggestions for changes they would like to see going forward.
The Learning Committee realizes that having young families in the midst is a blessing and an important piece to keep our church alive and growing. Providing a positive and meaningful worship experience for all who attend is also a most important goal.
Here are some of the parent comments from the survey:
“Most children-welcoming church we have been to…”
“Love having room in the back of the church for kids where they have extra space to move around when they need to do so.”
“Wish there was Godly Play offered every Sunday.”
“Really like the children’s sermon and Noisy Offering.”
“Wish there were more kids who attended.”
There are now “BUSY BAGS” available in the narthex for kids/parents to pick up on their way in that have more quiet activities for kids to handle. Some of the noisier toys that had been on the back table have been removed and replaced with more age-appropriate puzzles and coloring activities. We hope that these changes enhance the worship experience for all those who attend, young and old. The Learning Committee thanks those who responded to the survey and to those who have donated materials to accomplish the changes outline above.
We are certainly open to feedback regarding these changes and will continue our efforts to respond to the needs of our congregation in worship.
