A Joyful Palm Sunday & Easter Celebration
St. John Lutheran Church celebrated Palm Sunday with a special Easter celebration filled with faith, fun, and fellowship for children and their families.
The morning began with a memorable children's message during worship as the children joyfully waved palm branches to celebrate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. They also enjoyed hobby horses during the lesson, with each child receiving one to take home as a special keepsake.
Following the service, the celebration continued with a special visit from the Easter Bunny, who greeted children with hugs, smiles, story time, and memorable photo opportunities. Families enjoyed a variety of Easter crafts, delicious food and treats, an exciting egg hunt, and plenty of laughter as everyone joined in the lively Chicken Dance and other festive activities.
One of the day's most meaningful highlights was a hands-on lesson with Pastor Cover as the children made Empty Tomb Rolls. As they mixed, rolled, and baked the treats, they discovered how the marshmallow inside disappears during baking, leaving an empty center that beautifully symbolizes the empty tomb and the miracle of Jesus' resurrection. It was a memorable way for children to experience the Easter story through a fun and interactive activity.
The Palm Sunday celebration provided a wonderful opportunity for families to gather, celebrate the hope and joy of Easter, and create lasting memories together. We extend our sincere thanks to the many volunteers whose time, creativity, and dedication made this special event such a joyful success.
